What is BOD?

It is currently under debate whether it is a friendly NG tribunal, or a power hungry unholy society. I vote for the latter. Realistically, BOD refers to the Board Of Directors here at this NG. Who is in it? Pretty much anyone who declares themselves a member. It is a self appointed group of self important people such as myself who mostly admit to being members. Tenure also plays a part. There are some who are members by virtue of posting here for years who wrongly deny the title. (They are usually herded up and shot) Some are silent members who run various web sites or who contribute things such as the FAQ. In short, its just another something to do. Computer geeks who need to get a real life (who me?) perhaps. But in the end, its AC/DC, and recognizing that you are somehow connected to the glory and success of the band (power hungry part) and showing our appreciation without having to join a 'fan club.'

The BOD does have standards, rules, and punishments (double and now triple secret probation thank you Bob) Members come and go as they please. There is also an official NG BOD building, a secret BOD handshake, a corporate jet (NG-1) as well as a special underground room where roundtable sessions are held.
